I left a full time job working from home to go back to law school. After just one week, my husband is already mad at me for being gone so much, and says it will ruin the freedom that he has. We only have one child at home. How do I explain to him what law school is like? Especially, this first year....

  1. Tell him to shut up or you'll give him his freedom permanently.

Your function isn't to allow him to be an unrestricted kid.

(And, if these tantrums keep up, I'd think about giving him the heave-ho - he's not a partner, he's a parasite)

  2. "It will ruin the freedom that he has." What freedom? I thought marriage was a partnership? It sounds as though your husband a a self centered lout, and may want to throw interference in your new chosen course. Speaking to him, may require a counselor.

  3. tell him this is a dream of yours and it will only be a few years.  Also, law school will only get more time consuming, it sounds like you should have a preemtive talk before this happens.

  4. Well, unless you want to try marriage counseling, you'd better get accustomed to your husband's antics.  You have three more time-consuming years to go.  Plus, your job upon graduation will likely require 50+ hour work weeks.

  5. What a loser!  I hope Divorce law is the first thing you study.  He is an immature jerk to put his freedom ahead of your education.

  6. Time to leave this selfish fool!

Find someone who will support you and I do not mean $$$$.

Tell him he is selfish and an ***!
