He is 6 1/2 months old and for the past two weeks he has been having homeade banana and whole grain oatmeal for breakfast and just starting the homeade applesauce. The thing is, I don't know when or if I should be offering him baby food besides breakfast, given that he just started baby food like two weeks ago. When do I know to take it to the next step and make him baby food for lunch and dinner as well. Should I be doing that now already??

  1. Yes.  Give him some veggies for lunch or dinner so he has the 'taste for them' early.

  2. Do it now.

  3. My pediatrician said once a day until 8 months then twice a day until 10 months and then you can start three times a day (or two times and finger food snacks), because most of the baby's calories should be coming from breastmilk/formula still and the ratio changes gradually as he ages.  Don't worry about giving dinner foods like peas or green beans for "breakfast" - your baby doesn't know that veggies aren't morning foods.

  4. My baby brother started eating baby food at about 5 months old! They should be fed breakfast, lunch, and evening for the baby food! But we buy baby food,so I don't know about homemade stuff! It might be the same!idk.lol

  5. hi....stop stressing that's the first thing....my daughter is 5 months and has been having dinner for 1 month now i believe you should probably offer him more meals he will tell you if he wants it or if he doesn't

    Good luck
