It's an 01 Chrysler PT cruiser. It doesn't appear to be a gas 'leak' because my gauge isn't showing any problem. It is getting stronger and stronger. I can smell it outside of the car and then when you're driving you can smell it too. When you open the door, you can smell it. If I switch the do-hickey to get outside air, it's overwhelming.

  1. You have a leak in the fuel system.  Go get it fixed while you still have a car left to fix.  Your insurance company will thank you.

  2. you are leaking gasoline from your eng. compartment.----you know those cars you see on the side of road that are all burned up. they too smelled gas and did nothing about it--your next.

  3. you do have a fuel leak. probably under the hood. if you take a look under the hood with the engine running you should be able to track it done.
