I just started taking Yasmin birth control and NEED to quit smoking, is the patch ok, how did you quit?

Ok I am 27 and just started taking Yasmin birth control Sunday. I feel it's necessary to quit smoking now, rather than wait until I am 35 and the risks increase. There are still risks now that I am uncomfortable with! I have been smoking for 9 years. I quit once with the patch for a year, but started again due to stress and moving in with a smoker. If I use the PATCH again will that be ok with the BIRTH CONTROL?

Please tell me what ways you know or have heard of that make it easier to quit?

Thank you so much

  1. i dont see why it wouldnt be

and when my mum quit she did it gradually

cut down gradually.. that way your not going cold turkey and pulling your hair out

  2. I personally don't trust any quit smoking method that deals only with physical nicotine addiction. I tried several times to quit using patches, gums, herbs etc but none of these worked.

I'm sorry but I can't tell you if it is ok to use the patch with birth control but I truly don't believe you require a patch to quit in any case.

Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. As soon as I dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking I quit, first time and more importantly for good.

Once you deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter your level of addiction.

All you require is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.
