  2. These are what we call transition songs.  Here's a few to get you started.  I have many more if you are interested you can email me your email address and I'll attach my Word document for transitions.  I don't claim any of these as my own.  I've just collected them over the years.

Where, oh where, has our friend gone?

Oh where, oh where, can she be?

  3. Kiddles is a great site

  4. Look into songs by Shawn Brown.  He does kids songs that are more modern...almost hip hop.  He has songs about all the topics you want and also a whole cd of transition songs.  Kids love it because it's like what they hear on the radio.

  5. Mailbox Magazine aka The Education Center

has several books on these sort of rhymes. They all go with songs that kids know already.

One song that pops into my head ...tune is Oh my Darlin Clementine

    There are 7 days

    There are 7 days

There are 7 days in a week

    Sunday Monday

    Tuesday Wednesday

    Thursday Friday

    Saturday

  6. I have a WONDERFUL book, its called "Ring a ring O'roses. It has really anything you can think of for everything...aslo try WWW.EVERYTHINGPRESCHOOL.COM

  7. I learned the days of the week by.

    saterday

While the teacher pointed to a huge calender, and then we all had to sing the song. (The beats is like da da da da,/ da da da da,/ da da da da,/ da da da.) THats like the best way i can explain it.

Oh and the line thing went,

I first  (each kid will say it, you just have to go around and tap them on the head when its there turn)

    Im second

    I am third in line

    I am forth

    I am fifth

i am sixth in line, (it keeps going on until the last person) And whoever is last says)

Im the last in line (and claps there hand twice)

I thought that way was a cute way.,

  8. Wow. There are sooo many. Dr. Jean is full of great ideas. She has some great CD's with great songs on them, like days of the week, months of the year, ABC's, etc. You can probably get them from the library and burn them for your personal use. Put her name in a google search or just type in preschool songs. When my kids line up I like to say either "Spaghetti" (as spaghetti is long and straight when dried and it can remind them to get in line) or sing this song (there really isn't a tune, you kind of just say/sing it):

My hands are straight down by my side,

    I'm standing very tall,

    I'm quietly looking straight ahead,

I'm ready for the hall. (then silence by putting your finger vertically on your mouth).

Here is a cute days of the week song (tune: The Adams Family)

Days of the week (snap your fingers or something else that makes a noise)

Days of the week (snap your fingers)

Days of the week   x 3 ( snap your fingers)

There's Sunday and there's Monday, There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday, There's Thursday and There's Friday, and then there's Saturday. Days of the week (snap), Days of the week (snap) Days of the week x 3 (snap)

If you are interested in any other cute ideas, I have a ton. Just drop me an email: rachel.rakower@yahoo.com

    Hope this helps :)

  9. Tape the songs you want to learn and play them in the car, at home etc until you have memorised them. Also try and write them from memory-it won't take long to learn them.
