  1. If you just started you should leave them on. I started with fins and changed to a finless board for a few years, then I  changed back. Fins benefit you in a number of ways, it will help you learn the progressive edge you need to develop to do more advanced tricks and it will also benefit your switch riding. It will make landings easier as well because of the tracking so you have less of a chance to slip out. I moved to a finless when I was riding cable and hitting sliders, which is the better option for that kind of riding. Behind the boat I moved to a 4 fin board which was to grippy and would not release as well for my 3's and 5's. I now ride a 2006 premier with molded in fins and a center fin. I feel really comfortable with it  and have not found a better board to ride, it holds an edge really well but also releases when I need to spin. I think riding finless is a stage everyone goes through because it seems cool and it is a different way to ride. Try it out you might like it but I would wait until you have the fundamentals down like 180's and riding switch comfortably. I hope this helped.

  2. leave them in if your just starting its easier to leave them on you can spin better if you take them off
