  1. Wolman and Olympic are good ones to choose from.  Thompson's usually is not rated all that great.


  2. Thompsons started out good.

    I believe they have many different Quality levels now.

    It depends on how long you want your sealer to last. The basic Thompsons is user friendly... and so darn thin it is almost like water. The nice thing is if you are a bit messy as people tend to be it this also is easier to clean off so it may be a good choice for many DIY's.

    Talk with your paint supply store and ask their advice. The friendly folk at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, Sherwin Williams, Sevens, etc... know their stuff.

    Meeting in person works best in my experience.

  3. Thompsons makes a good product, but unless you buy the one with UV protectant the wood will grey again. It will be protected but it will still grey.

  6. Thompsons is not the best choice by far. CWF (clear wood finish) is very good and readily availiable. Even the dreaded home depot has it.
