I'm 15. I am a good player. I have been playing Acuity Vanquish clubs. I tend to shoot high 30's to low 40's. I just bought Nike SQ Sumo irons. I have tested them at ***** but their equiptment was broken. Can I expect to hit it a lot farther and straighter?

  1. Well you shouldn't have bought the irons you did if you shoot so low. You could handle the Nike Forged Blades or the CCI Forged Irons, which are both cheaper than the sumo irons. But with the sumo irons you should expect a higher ball flight, more distance, more forgiveness, more control, and overall better iron play, simply because they are a higher quality iron that what you used to play. I switched to the Ping i10, which is like a blade, and i got the same distance, more accuracy than my old Nike Blended Irons.

  2. Expect to struggle... I have switched irons recently and it was really frustrating to get back into a predictable groove.

  3. Equipment is only the tool.  Distance and accuracy is first and foremost a result of a solid swing.  New equipment will only compliment a solid swing.  Without the foundation the new clubs will only do the same as the old clubs did.

  4. I don't think your distance will increase by that much but you should notice a difference in forgivness and accuracy.

    Good luck with your golf!
