I just thought of some Junior VS. the Busch brothers statistics. Did you know....?

Junior and KURT Busch were tied in overall active driver wins with 17 until Junior won 2 weeks ago breaking the tie?

Now, Kurt Busch won again which ties him again with Junior @ 18 wins.

Did you know NON-Active Cup drivers with 18 total Cup career wins are Geoff Bodine, Neil Bonnett and Harry Gant? Nice company!

Also, Both Junior and KYLE got seemingly shanked on the track today but Jr. finished one position ahead of Kyle! I only mention that because they are 1st and 3rd in points. If they were 11th and 27th at this time it wouldn't be close enough to mention at all so please no bashing.

  1. Well, 18 is an unlucky number for many reasons. 2 reasons? Jr. had 17 before the end of the streak. A long streak before getting 18 wins. Kurt had 17 wins. With 17 wins coming into the season, he had a terrible one. And now that he has 18 career wins, he is 18th in points. He will proably stay there for a while. I was thinking of the same thing when he won.

  2. To be honest, the only statistic that's impressive to me is that only 1 of the three has a championship!!

And until either Jr. or Kyle get one, Kurt's still got that to hold above their heads, despite the fact that he's having the crappiest season of his career.

Not bashing, 2/3 of them are my favs.

  3. actually, i did know those things. well, the kurt, junior, and kyle things at least. as a matter of fact, in an earlier answer i brought up the "junior finished ahead of kyle" thing specifically. as hard as he was hit, i wouldn't have believed junior finished at all, but i guess only mcmurray got seriously hosed on that one.

and what winter glory says is correct as well, as usual.

what's more interesting for me is that when i began watching nascar ALL the time after seeing my first race live in vegas, i made a fair amount of money betting on both junior and kurt for quite a few races (i pulled for kurt, my ex pulled for junior - and no, that's not why we are no more... ;-).  between them they won 15 races in 2003 and 2004. i wonder what happened to all the money i won... i'll bet that's why we are ex's.

    ;-)
