PLease answer me: In the answer sheet, I erased some of my answers, but then the pencil marks just won't completely come off. But it became lighter. Now my question is, what will happen to my anwers there? Will my new answers still be accepted? or Will they be marked as wrong? or Will my entire answer sheet be forfeited?

By the way my answer sheet was really clean, no stray marks, but in those circles I have erased, there was some sort of light shade of pencil(I hope you know what I mean)

  1. It's okay. They use a machine to check the papers, so if the lead is totally gone, it won't detect it.

P.S. Your answers will be marked as 'no answer.' That's playing safe since the UPCAT is right-minus-wrong. Good Job.

hahaha. It forgot to play safe. I didn't leave any item blank. (except for the math test where I only answered 11 items.)

Did you really take the USTET? I don't think the schedule is out yet. I haven't even been notified about it.

  2. If it is very light, the machine will not consider those answers. The light shade will not matter.

    By the way:

The UPCAT is right minus 1/4 wrong. Meaning, if you guessed on 5 questions and got 1 right and four wrong, the net effect is zero ( 1- 4 x (1/4) = 0). If you guessed 2 out of five correctly, then you've got a bonus.

If you can eliminate at least 1 of the multiple choices as impossible, it's better to guess.

  3. In all honesty, electronic scanning machines don't do a great job and they generate higher correct points than manual checking would.

UPCAT is right minus wrong so it is definitely better to leave unsure items blank than to answer them. For USTET it is not so - it is better to answer everything (even guess).
