I scored a 96.5. so, i'm wondering if that's high enough or is it really competative? also, if that is high enough, what's next and how long is the whole process going to take from here and what to expect.

thanks.

  1. You should be called soon enough.

That said, a high entry Test score does not guarantee success in Oklahoma. The washout rate is extremely high.

But you'll never know unless you try.  Good luck.

  2. I'm not an ATC guy but around the school I attend (UND) there are a lot of ATC grads waiting on the FAA to set them into a class in Oklahoma. I've recently heard that the FAA is trying to fast track the process. I see problems with this, like there is a back log of people qualified to attend the Oklahoma school. For your sake I hope they put the fast track program into place.

  3. I'd add that if you make it through Oklahoma City, the washout rate is even higher once you get to your facility.  No offense, but the folks we're getting aren't doing very well and will probably be gone soon.

It's one those jobs that you can either do or you can't.  And most can't.  One of those kids scored a 99 and thought he was a shoe in.

  4. Last week there was a similar question, and I asked one of our new hires.  He was hired with an 84.5, so it sounds like you did pretty well.  You should be competitive.

As for what's next, our new folks are saying it only took them about a month for things to move along.  You should get called to a nearby facility for interview, arrangements made for psych tests, etc.  If all goes well, plan to spend sometime in lovely southwest OKC, and then on to your duty station.  Good luck.
