As i said above I just turned 13 3 months ago. I'm like 5' 9" 160 and i threw 68 mph from a 54 ft mound. Is that average because I was watching the LLWS and these guys were only throwing around mid 70's from only 46 ft.

  1. I'm going to be honest with you, you're not going to throw the ball by anybody at 68 mph.  However, it doesn't really matter how fast you throw, you have to be able to locate and change speeds to keep hitters off balance.

  2. You definitely have something going for you. Don't lose it. Work out and stay strong!!!

  3. you should do what i did. When i was 11, i had a cannon surgically inserted into my arm, then i had it modified to throw baseballs. I couldnt hit with it because i couldnt bend my arm, and i may not be able to field with it for that same reason, but i have never had to test it because, being able to 'throw' the ball at over 400mph's, Nobody has ever put the ball in play. The bats that have touched the ball all blew up, and the few times that i lost control and hit a batter, they just evaporated (that was an interesting situation in trying to award the batter first base on the hit by pitch).

    Anyways, you should try this...

or you could just go out and ask someone that can actually see you pitch and tell you if you are average or not. There are many variation in mph's from guns to whoever is 'clocking' you.

please quit asking us if you are 'average'. Only someone who can actually watch you play can tell you that.

    thank you

  4. pretty good. Keep working on it and get ready to move back to 60 ft 6 soon.

  5. That's actually pretty good. Remember that everyone develops at their own pace, especially at your age. And velocity isn't everything. Jamie Moyer is still a really good MLB pitcher and his fastball is around 80mph from 60' 6"...abd that's to to MLB hitters!

Just keep working on your craft. You never know how far you'll make it, so if you love the game, give it a go.

  6. Yeah you would probably be above average for a 13 year old but thats because your big and tall for your age. For your height that pretty dam good. And the little league world series kids most of them were only hitting 55- 65 for pitching.

  7. It doesn't matter how far you throw from, the speed will be the same.......

  8. That's pretty good.
