  1. Check your school - or whatever school has the summer school session for your area.  Many high schools have "career centers" that have jobs that are perfect for kids your age.

  2. restaurants are the best place to start. by law you cannot be paid less then minimum wage unless you're babysitting or cutting grass for someone

  3. Well its hard nowadays just because the job market is strugglin especially if you do not have a college degree. Try to start off at small business or places like wal-mart, target etc. I would never work for less than minimum wage but it can depend on if you get tips too. Also since you have no work experience include all high school acheivements.  Hope that helps

  4. Because of the US crumbling economy, its getting harder and harder to even find a job let alone finding a job of your choice. Most employers are looking for people over age 21 or older while it was usually 18 or even younger. Because your only 16 it seems very diffucult to find a job that pays, but you can still try by googling job openings, or look at newspapers, best of luck =)

  5. Go to your local mall and start asking for applications.  Go into the stores you like, and maybe Target or Walmart.  My first job was at Champs Sports and I gained a lot of customer service skills.  Not only that, but I've also had recruiters from other companies come into the store and try to recruit me.  You also learn great selling skills that will be useful in many environments.  If you don't get any luck, apply at the Target or Walmart...they are ALWAYS hiring.  All these jobs are entry level so you don't need to know anything when you start.  It's all GAIN from here.  You'll have lots of experience before you know it.

  6. You can also check out snagajob.com for other leads for major companies that are hiring.  And no, I do not think it's legal to work for less than minimum wages unless you are compensated with benefits.
