Should you use nail polish remover to get puffy paint off a shirt? Before I posted my other question I had a quick thought about trying nail polish remover, but wasn't so sure I should do that in fear of ruining the shirt...and I cannot go buy a new one...but when I posted another question earlier about it someone also said to use nail polish remover but I am still quite iffy about that. So does anyone know if that works and its safe, or have some other ideas as to how to get it off?

It's a black t-shirt if that makes a difference...so please help me?

Well, First of all, This is going to sound strange, but put your shirt into the freezer. this will prevent the paint from sreading when you peal/scrape it off (leave it in the freezer for 3-4 hours). Nextyou should scrape off (if you applied it thickly) the paint. DO NOT use any liquids for this part, just some sort of tool to remove the raised bit of paint. This is a picture of puffy paint that is raised just incase you were wondering what i meant by "raised": http://belladia.typepad.com/photos/uncat...

After its been scraped, use (in small doses) any of the following: brush cleaner, white spirit, turps, or nail varnish remover and gently apply it to your shirt with cotton wool.you will start to see the stain slowely disapear. after this, put the shirt into a platic bag, and back into the freezer (you dont want the food smelling like turps!) And leave in the freezer for a further hour. After the hour has passed, the stain should either be totally gone, or small traces of the paint should still be seen. Get some more cotton wool and soak it in warm/hot water, and lightly scrub the stain. Leave it to dry, and the shirt SHOULD be as good as new. If not, then put somemore nail varnish remover onto it with cotton wool and scrub again (lightly of course).

After ALL OF THIS! wash your t-shirt (washing machine to get rid of the awful "high" smell off the nail varnish remover) and your done!
