I just want to get started?

I have signed up and I have added several people to my list. Now I would like to chat with them and I don't know how to get to taht page.

Near the top of your Buddy List click on the "Contacts" Tab. Scroll down to the "Invite People to Join...a window of the same name will pop up. Enter the information asked. Then click "Next" Follow the instructions. Your chat buddies will have a certain amount of time to respond before their invitation is terminated. Note: If time runs out. You will need to re-invite them.

The instructions below are for random chat rooms.

In the upper left hand corner of your Buddy List click on the "Messenger" Tab.

Scroll down to "Yahoo Chat"

Then click on Join a Room...

A "Join Room" window will come up.

On the left side of the window you will find the "Categories" section. Click on the category that interests you.

Various room choices will show up under the "Yahoo! Rooms" Tab (on the right)

Select/Highlight the desired room. Then click the "Go to Room" button located at the bottom right.

At this point you will arrive at the "Connecting to Yahoo Chat window.

Wait for this page to load up. Once loaded you will notice the "Enter Chat" button located at the top center of this window. Click on it.

At this point the chat room window will pop up. However you're not ready to chat just yet. You must first click on the blue link to verify your account (this link will open a new web browser window). This step is required before you can begin chatting.

At this time a "Chat Room Verification" window will pop up. Asking you to type in a code. Copy the code that is shown into the empty box to the left of the bright yellow Submit button. Then click the "Submit" button.

At this point you will join the chat room allowing you to chat.

HI texastail,

Go to Yahoo messenger then click add room with voice conference room invite your friends then be sure to  turn voice that should do the trick. I usually just go into a room from Yahoo messenger it's just easier.  Have a good night. :0)
