i just wanna remove one bullet from its caseing

i wanna keep my fingers and face but im not gonna spend 25 bucks to get one bullet out

idc about the bullet i just want the caseing

how do i get it out ?

and how do i disable the primer once the bullet and powder are out?

and will puting the bullet under water make the bullet a "dud"?

  1. There is a tool called a bullet puller.  It works on inertia.  It looks kind of like a hammer.  The loaded cartridge is locked in place and you swing and hit a hard surface and the bullet pops out.  You can dump the powder out and spray a little WD40 inside the case to kill the primmer.  This is going to be too expensive for a one shot (pardon the pun) deal.  If you just want the brass why not go to shooting range and pick up a piece?


  2. most gun ranges these days have reloading equipment, and would be happy to pull the bullet for you (let them keep the bullet to use in their own reloading).


  3. If you have the rifle that this bullet fits on hand, shoot the bullet into a safe target, and eject the shell.  Clean the rifle, and you're done.  The casing is empty and the primer is no longer an issue.

  4. If you go to a local range there are usually empty fired casings all over the place.
