  1. The Bible says that the earth cracked open and the veil that separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the place tore in two. The graves also cracked open and the dead walked the streets of Jerusalem, which they didn't put in the movie, if I recall correctly. The temple was not totally destroyed at that time, though. That didn't happen until about 70 AD when the Roman army took Jerusalem and did the job.

  2. Are you talking about The Passion, directed by Mel Gibson ?

The temple was indeed, destroyed, but by the roman general Titus, years later.

Acording to the Bible, what happened at the moment was the the veil tore open

  3. Absolutely, the temple that was Christ himself was destroyed only to rise in three days.  If your talking about the Herods Temple, then the answer is still yes.  That temple was distroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

  4. I believe only the veil was torn in two.

Hebrews 9:1-9 tells us that in the Temple a veil separated the Holy of Holies where God dwelt from the rest of the Temple where men dwelt. This signified that man was separated from God by sin (Isaiah 59:1-2). Only the High Priest was permitted to pass beyond this veil once each year (Exodus 30:10; Hebrews 9:7), enter into God's presence for all of Israel, and make atonement for their sins (Leviticus 16).

  5. If by "right when he died" you mean 70 years later, then yes.
