  1. Sigh...lets just let the dirt and trash pile up instead, causing dangerous situations and street drains to fill with debris. They have no choice it has to be done. Maybe you can invent a clean street cleaner instead.

  2. Tell your mom.

  3. I see that too, as I gag from every ambulance or firetrouck that parks in front of a grocery store or department store, when they spew out such noxious and foul excrement from the exhausts. I often wondered that when an ambulance is called to attend to someone who is having breathing problems, doesn't the exhaust worsen the patient's condition and make breathing even more difficult? And, why do transportation vehicles spew out such gagging fumes, smoke, and get away with it? Then aqgain, if our autombile needs a tuneup it might not pass an EPA emissions test, ending up costing us a lot for vehicle repairs. Just like why do many residents have a bin for recycleable matereals and a gabage recepticle when many businesses throw out glass, food, plastics, metal, and possible toxic matereals into on dumpster? I knw that if a creek, stream, lake, or air pollution observation takes place, there are anonomus EPA numbers to call to report it. Sometimes someone checks out such things right away, especially if fish or wildlife are dieing or people or pets start getting sick or dieing.

  4. Heres who you call if you live in New York.  I don't know where you live, but look up "City Name" Air Pollution Control District on the internet.  Call them and log a complaint.  Thats what they are there for.

    Address:

New York City Department of Environmental Protection

    Bureau of Environmental Compliance

    59-17 Junction Boulevard, 11th Floor

    Corona, NY 11368

    Phone:

    (718) 595-4418

    Fax:

    (718)595-4422

  5. The more you look around now, the crazier it will all seem/get.  Millions of people right now are going to the store for a pack of smokes,  burning out warehouses full of atmosphere just for a toke.  I could get carried away with more facts about how stupid our current transportation system is, but perhaps you can dream of a clean planet and be relaxed.  I hope so.

  6. Never been to NYC when the garbage haulers/street cleaners are on strike?   Mountains and mountains of trash.

It's a necessary evil, in the end it is still more efficient than humans with brooms and wheelbarrows.

  7. The street cleaner truck is probably owned and operated under the county government.  However it probably meets air emissions standards and probably has passed inspection.  So I doubt if you'd be able to get anyone to listen to you.

You're best bet is to write a letter to your newspaper and see it they will print it under "letters to the editor".
