It's not a big deal,I was just curious, my mother-in-law goes to a Uniting Church and when a family member commented about getting their baby christened, she said the correct term is baptism? I didn't think there was any difference, but she insists, "You CHRISTEN a ship and you BAPTISE a baby!"

Just wondered, that's all

  1. You know I think they just call it the different name depending on which church they are a part of. In my family-in-law they say Baptised, they are roman catholic, but its all the same old thing

  2. Honestly I do not think there is a difference even in the baptism process they do say Christen a few times. When I sent out my invites to my sons it said Christening and when I pulled out the ones that my mom sent out for me it says Baptism. They are both doing essentially the same thing.
