Question:

I keep breaking club heads off my drivers. Is this in my swing or am I just getting inferior equipment?

Last year I broke heads off of 2 drivers (a Warrior and an old Mizuno). I also broke the Warrior 3 wood. These all happened on shots where the ball was teed up. Now, I've just broken my repaird Warrior driver. I'm beginning to believe this must be something in my swing. The club is not hitting the ground or anything. The ball is picked off the tee cleanly. I was wondering if I should get a Wilson Fat Shaft to reduce torque and twisting. Can anyone enlighten me? I'm a 15 handicap if that helps.

  1. It is probably that you have old crappy equipment. I am tall and strong and swing with a clubhead speed similar to PGA tour golfers and I have never broke a clubhead from the shaft. I always have had quality name brand equipment that has never been more than 5 years old. I would invest in some good equipment or order quality components from Golfsmith and have a good golf shop assemble them for you. Even with a bad swing you shouldn't have  equipment that breaks when you make clean contact.

  2. your probably got **** clubs

  3. If the shaft is snapping at the edge of the hosel, then it wasn't beveled correctly, so it can snap quite easily.

  4. It depends how much u want 2 pay  i have a callaway jr set yes laugh im 12 and it works like a charm  drive 200yds  try getting into some lessons and buy some nicer clubs when u have done lessons   PRACTICE at the Driving Range

  5. LOL, how do you swing the club with the broken arm?  You know the one you got from patting yourself on the back - or was it beating your chest - LOOK, ME HE MAN!!!.  LOL.

  6. Try stiffer shafts. you may try to find a better way to store your clubs as well. They can weaken in freezing cold. But if this isn't the case, most new drivers come with a 2-3 year warranty. Then you won't have to pay to have it fixed again.

  7. I have seen heads break on inferior equipment but never on the top of the line equipment , you might need to invest in some better equipment.

  8. it may be that the club head is the problem.  it may be the shaft needs to be stiffer.  or maybe you just bought c**p clubs.  either way, it's not your swing.  i hit down more on my 3 wood than i do with some of my irons, and i've never broken a head off.
