  1. YOU'RE NOT STUDYING ENOUGH.

Seriously though, I hate these kids who say they "try but just cannot pass." Yeah, hmm, let's check out their study habits. Oh, they've been out partying and drinking every day! How productive.

  2. If you keep failing math, you are not listening and you probably are showing no interest in asking questions when you do not understand. It doesn't sound as if you are trying hard enough. Nor are you taking any steps to improve yourself. So why are you burdening us with your problem? What you can do is get tutoring in math, and apply yourself to learn and if not, live with the lower GPA.

  3. Honey, I have sympathy for you. I took Chemistry twice and on both occasions, I almost failed, but I never stopped trying. Trust me. I got into a competitive nursing program after failing several courses from a mental breakdown. I explained what happened and they believed me! I've been doing well ever since.

If you are doing well in you other courses and this is the only one that's brining you down, try to get a decent grade and explain what happened. Don't let one class bring your spirits down. Keep trying my friend. Sir Winston Churchill once said:

"Never Give In, Never, Never, Never"

    Good Luck!

  4. You probably hate numbers, formulas and such; they probably confuse you. Stay focused, try to make it interesting, and keep up your determination.

Try being organized in your work, make sure you're using the right method, and check it - as it can be quite tricky - and then move on.

One way to make it interesting is to relate it to a real-life problem (look in your text book) and how you would solve it with math.

Edit: You can also get tutoring as suggested by another user, but keep in mind what I told you when working alone.

  5. I dislike math for the longest but know that I had to make a career change and return to college I taking computer science and my course demands math, little did I know so I got a tutor , they should be available in college and most public libraries. Most important thing is not to be ashamed or afraid to ask for help, you will see. I love math!

  6. Maybe go back a step and retake the class you took prior to this one.  You may have missed understanding some of the basics you need to take the class you are in now.  I hate math big time and it kicked my but at the upper university level but I got through with what I needed for my degree's.  I would look into seeing if your school has a math lab where the professors and others are on call for you to help you with your daily work.  If you didn't buy the study guide that comes with each math book, go buy them.  It is nearly impossible to just buy the book and pass.  The study guide shows you how to get the answer they got along with the right answer so you can see how the problem is done.  Lastly, if need be fork out a little money and get a tutor.  Your professor also is required to have daily office hours and they are there to help you understand.  Go see them daily if you need to.  Good luck.

  7. have you though about tutoring.  it is a really good way to get to know someone new and help your grade at the same time.  you can first try with a friend or ask someone in your class.  if that doesn't work usually in your school counseling office or the main office you can fill out a form, and someone can sign up to tutor you.  don't give up either, that will not help you get any where.  GOOD LUCK IN MATH!
