This is a small black bug about 5mm long with 6 legs on its thorax, no visible antennae, with small bristles on its thorax and abdomen and a thin stripe of orange down each side of its abdomen... I've tried looking it up on various bug identification keys with no luck... Any ideas? Thanks!

Ok put it in your scanner with a couple of sheets of paper over the top and you will get a great image of it..

Nothing like a image to identify a bug

  5. Sounds a bit like a Ladybird larva.
