What happens after I get the info, I know it can either be a stalker ex-boyfriend or a prank, I am not obligated to go further if it's a prank right?

  1. I'm getting the same thing, though I am with a different company, unsolicited text messages, calls from numbers that appear to have a country code prefix but can not be called back. They are leeching money.

  2. Typically, you file a complaint with the police.  The phone company puts a trap on the line and records the info and sends it to the officer who requested it as a result of your signed complaint.  The phone company does not give the info to you, just the officer who investigates.  Sometimes there are people who have a legitimate reason for not letting you see their number.  For instance, an ex with whom you share custody of a child.  The phone company leaves it up to the officer to determine whats going on.  The officer pursues it and if appropriate make a case for prosecution.  If its a prank and you do not want to proceed or you decline to prosecute for any reason, the phone company will never assist you again in this manner. They do not have the time or resources to track down every hang up/misdial.  There is no fee that I know of.

You can set up your account in some regions so that blocked calls can not get through.  It depends on the technology that serves your area.
