I keep getting error message

I keep getting error message 2908, can you help????I am trying to install Direct x 9 so I can play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, but when the installation is about 90 percent complete this exact message comes up - "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing the package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2908."
