  1. Each Yahoo Group (including the FreeCycle ones) has its own web site.  If you visit the home page of this Group (the one you want to get out of) while logged in to Yahoo, you should see an Edit Membership link near the middle of the top line (just below the ad if there is one); click on this link.  Then scroll down to the lower-right-hand corner of the page, and click on the Leave Group button there.  Then follow the directions on the resulting page.

If you don't see the Edit Membership link where I said, even when logged in to Yahoo, then you'll need to leave the Group by the e-mail command.  To do this, send a blank e-mail to GroupName-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com (replacing GroupName with the exact name of the Group, of course).  Note that this method doesn't always work, so if you continue to receive messages after doing so, then fill out the form at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/... to tell Yahoo Groups staff about the problem.

  2. you wish to leave a group: Go to the group's site, click on edit membership along the top. In the next window scroll down and check leave group Click save changes and you should be out. It may take a day to take effect.
