Question:

I keep getting headaches...?

Almost every day i seem to get a headache, its usually at night but sometimes i get them in the morning about an hour after i've woken up.

These headaches vary from being moderate some days, and really painful and severe other days. I get them usually in the one side of my head and neck pain normally follows. The headaches last from about 3 hours up to a day.

I do admit, that i don't get tired and fall asleep until early hours of the morning, but then i sleep in late, so i do get a good nights sleep.

Can someone tell me what type of headache i get? And would you advise that i see a doctor about them?

  1. Do the headaches make you feel sick and a bit dizzy?

You could be having migraines... Ask your doctor if you are getting ones that long and every day.

Although, even though you get a good night's sleep, your irregular sleeping pattern could be adding to your headaches. You have to set a "sleep schedule" for yourself, otherwise your body gets confused and stressed out, causing headaches.

  2. If it's just one side of your head it might be a pressure headache, I get those sometimes. I usually take Advil Liquid Gel an it helps me. You might wanna relax when you get them, just take it easy and if it starts to get super strong and worse then go to a doctor, but the Advil should help

  3. Hi Emilie,

There probably are as many different kinds of headaches as there are colors. You mentioned one thing that I'm curious about though. When you say you don't get tired and fall asleep until the early morning hours, are you sitting at your computer? Maybe your neck's got a pinched nerve in it from being in one position for long periods of time. I know I'm a night-owl as well sometimes even pulling all-nighters then sleep late.  My headaches come from sinuses; have you looking into the possibility that yours are acting up, too? Another cause of headaches is directly related to how you treat your stomach. Do a little question and answer session with yourself and the answer may be closer at hand than you know.

Good luck and please don't overdo the analgesics; they can cause "rebound headaches."

My Mom used to swear by an ice-pack while resting in a quiet, darkened room until she felt better. Who, in your family had/have headaches that you know of?

    Don't smoke either.

If you can't find an answer, best check with a physician.

  4. it is called a stress headache buy some excedrin migraine and buy some headon for your head.

  5. Pressure headache or migraine or sinus headache.Adust to lower/higher pillow.Tilt bed up a little by putting books under two legs.Keep room very ventilated to stop you getting dehydrated.

Most important of all is not sleeping in late.Falling asleep, than waking then having a further snooze, always triggers a headache for me.Wake up and get up at an early time irrespective of how tired you are.

My guess is onset of sinus trouble,as l think during sleep, the air passages  are having airflow restricted through the nasal area and triggering headaches. No solution, trundle off to see your overpaid doctor
