I keep getting phone calls where when I answer I hear a beep and that's it. Does anyone know what this is

The number comes up as either unknown caller or private caller on my caller ID. When I try to *69 the number, I get a message that the number is blocked. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know what it is, or who makes the calls? If I had the company name or number I could file a complaint on the Do Not Call website.

someone is probably trying to send a fax, and is sending it to the wrong number. When you hear that beeping sound, you are calling the fax line
