have run avg free edition and says no threats found. antivirus 2009 say i have to buy the licence for it to remove said threats! Could this just be a ploy to make me purchase their antivirus? Ran search and destroy yesterday just as routine scan and nothing showed on that either.

  1. ignore them, infact when that pop up came on my antivirus recognised spyware in it.

  2. you have been mugged off BIG TIME antivirus 2009 isnt real it happend to me to delete it and report it to microsoft

  3. Most likely to be spam. Have you updated s&d?

  4. Go to http://www.popup-remover.com

I use that program. It works very well.

Block pop-up ads and remove spyware .

  5. I found that by downloading and updating SuperAnti Spyware & Malware bytes. Run them both ( not at the same time) follow the instructions to their conclusion & you should be OK

  6. This is junk do not buy it.

you are infected with spyware and not aware of it.

use this to get rid of it.

    Malware bytes

I also recommend a better antivirus than AVG as it has lower detection rates than others I recommend Antivir and it catches more junk than avg.

look at this comparison between 3 free antivirus programs

  9. Try paying for something. Your not going to get virus protection for free. Sounds to me like you're actually falling for one of those pop up ads that look like they're scanning your system. Good job.

  10. I got that 2 days ago.It said that my computer had already been infected. I went to click lockdown but it wouldn't let me. I couldn't close it either. And I couldn't CTRL+ALT+DEL so I unplugged at power point and rebooted and went straight into scanning and it was removed.

It's not just a popup - it gets into your computer.

  11. here is a video that shows how to remove antivirus 2009

  12. download a free anti-virus, if it's keep popping, just scan it then it'll be gone..

  13. Avg is antivirus not anti-spyware, install Ad-Aware (anti-spyware) and also install malwarebytes because it might be a trojan.

  15. hmm maybe,

if u want to upgrade buy it, if not just ignore it.

  16. Your infected by Antivirus 2009 allready.

Its a real pain, but this will help

  17. Don't buy it.Use this and follow the directions exactly.

    http://forum.securitycadets.com/index.ph...

  18. try a program call malware bytes, that should find and remove it.

It's basically adware trying to sell you software to clean these so called viruses.

  19. You're right. A lot of companies try to 'scare' you into buying their product. If AVG Free and Spybot haven't detected anything, I shouldn't worry.

  20. Oh dear, if the pop-up is from a web page please, please ignore it... however, if it is from the PC then you got problems :(

  21. AntiVirus 2009 is a rogue program. They use aggressive false advertising to scare people into buying their software. When you get a pop-up for one of these, IMMEDIATELY click the red X and close your browser.

You may already be infected, even if you didn't download the program. Run Spybot, also go to http://www.malwarebytes.org and download their free scanner.

  22. Antivirus 2009 is an unwanted program, from the authors of Antivirus 2008. These applications have resembling interface and "features". After stealth installation, Antivirus 2009 will show tonns of fake spyware\adware detection messages and offers to remove reported threats (after you purchase commercial version). But in real Antivirus 2009 is not a spyware cleaner, it's just an imitation of spyware remover. Antivirus 2009 can also slow your computer and cause system errors and crashes. Remove Antivirus 2009 using manual removal instructions (for advanced users) or removal tool.

  23. Yes, it's a scam.  If you really want to make sure that you have no viruses, go to housecall.trendmicro.com and run the free online scan.  It will take off any viruses or malware that is on your computer.  Also, don't have more than one anti virus program installed on your computer. It makes it less secure because they interfere with one another.  Avg is alright, Avast is better though if you want to look into that.  Avast has a free version.

  24. This in itself is an infection, do not install it.

If you have clicked on no/cancel then you may already be infected.

There's removal instructions here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-...  but if they're too complicated, email me for a different method.

    EDIT: Sent you mail

  25. Bleeping computer is legit so no worries about what they have.  Still, I'd recommend using better programs then what they have.  Since Antivirus 2009 is pretty nasty, I would recommend going through a three step of guides.  Just follow them and your problems will be over:

    1) Follow the specific removal guide for Antivirus XP:

    http://ultcomprepair.blogspot.com/2008/0...

    2) Follow the generic virus removal guide.  It's a long guide but it's very good at clearing out all traces of viruses from the computer:

    http://ultcomprepair.blogspot.com/2008/0...

    3) If things aren't back to normal (Start Menu missing buttons etc), then run the following fixes to get the system back to the way it should look:

    http://ultcomprepair.blogspot.com/2008/0...

Good luck, this will take care of your virus problem no question.

  26. This is spyware. Use an anti spyware to get rid of that. You can find reviews on the most rated anti spywares today at the link below.
