Question:

I keep getting threatening phone calls?

For about three months I've been getting these phone calls saying I've won a million dollars but, I have to pay him $450 (so, it's obviously a scam). This guy keeps calling me and its getting really annoying. Today, he called and I pretended I was someone else so, when he asked if I was there I said "no" to which he replied "Make sure he calls me back or I'll hang you by your balls". After that I told him to "Go F*** himself". He called back three more times and I told him I was calling the cops. I did, afterwards call the cops, who were very helpful.

This guy has said he is from Jamaica but, he sounds Indian. The officer on the phone said the call was coming from Kingston, Jamaica. The number he has called from in the past is 1876-291-7125. However, sometimes when I dial *69 after he calls it says the number cannot be reached by that method.

I was wondering if there is some kind of website where I can trace this number and get some more details about who this person is.

  1. Well did the guy stop calling you?

Because my cousin has this one phone where even a private, unknown or restricted wont work, so you can look at there number. Go to AT and T. Find the phone.

I dont know Google it; and sometimes phones have glitches in it so maybe you'll be lucky!

  2. Here's how I handle such calls...Them: hey is so and so there? Me: Uh yeah he'll be to the phone in just a minute. After which I set the phone down and go about my life...after about 10 minutes (or the next time I walk by the phone), I hang up...trust me their calls will magically stop...lol

  3. You should probably call your service provider and block the number from calling your house phone, and also your cell phone if you have one.

As far as I know, there are no sites like that...would you like people to be able to go online and find out everything about you?

    Hope that helps!

  4. if you google scam loads of helpful sites come up, ask the phone company to block his number too, tell the police every time he calls and record them if youcan

  5. It is actually called a crank call. It is when people call you and desguise themselves for entertainment purposes or other reasons. If the police had not helped, there must be something wrong. Some tips:

    - Call your local police station after the call has been made, if they stay on for longer then 59 seconds the number can be tracked down

    - Tell him to stop calling you and tell him the dangers of a crank call; such as concequences.

    - DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE!

    - CALL THE PHONE COMPANY AND TELL THEM TO MAKE YOUR PHONE NOT REACHABLE TO PRIVATE NUMBERS

    I hope I helped you out (:

  6. Seeing as no one has actually aswered your question...here is a referse lookup site. Pretty self explanitory, just type in the phone number and they will provide you basic information. To get more indepth information you will need to pay, but, if you're that concerned, I'd do it.

    http://phonebook.com/reverse-phone.php

    Hope this helps.

  7. You may not want to believe this, but It feels like someone has it in for you on a more personal note.. The reason why I say this.... It is the same scam over and over. When I would put my faith in scamming people, your nut is a bit too hard to crack, because you did not take notice and figured you were being scammed and that would have been the end of that.

You pretending to be someone else, did not alert him to the fact that he was speaking to you, so he must have been quite out of it, not to recognize your voice, when he called you so often.  as you say.

Could this be the one off Dumbo, that has been offered a scam, but actually has no clue........ I am quite smitten with the clumsiness, so I am inclined to Say yes....

The other, I dread to think.... Someone''s revenge are the only thins I can come up with.

Report this with care, and ask for a listening post, to establish the Identity of the caller... Are you sure you recognized his voice for instance.

  8. I mean, you've got a number, and you've got where the call is coming from.  If you really wanted to press charges or something, I'm sure the police could take further action.  Maybe see if he keeps calling, and see if you can pinpoint what time of day he usually calls, and then have the police listen to one of the calls and trace it.

  9. This guy is just a creep.

    Sorry about this!

    Change your phone number.

  10. I have no idea, but I wouldn't worry too much if its all the way in Jamaica. Maybe he needed the money really badly so just randomly rung up a complete stranger.

Try typing in something like 'Call Tracing' in Google :)

  11. get a whistle..like a regular adult whistle....when the guy calls back, blow it as LOUD as you possibly can into his ear...it could pop his ear drum.

  12. Wow!  I'm sorry you are being threatened by this creep.  I would try to go through your phone company and see if they can trace the number at all.  I really think you need at least a name to try to find a person on the internet.  Also, you can ask them to put a block on that number so that the guy can't get through anymore.

    Good luck.

  13. well in from jamaica. but hey don't sweat it. just call the number as it appears or use another network to contact the man. google his number. i'm sorry that's all i have,  just get a new number. even try the phone company, but don't take all the matters into your hands. the threat is feebble but i think he may know where you live good luck. if this helps=10 points?

  14. either change ur number or get a callin card n call the kingston, jamaica number back nad threaten him...h**l i'll do it for u..for fun..show them (him) what it feels like to be harrassed

  15. umm let the cops deal with it

    and   change your number

  16. Report  it...........

  17. Calling the police was probably the best move, see if your phone company will block the number he's calling from?  Or it's a hassle but you could always change your number.

  18. do you have caller ID? If so then just stop answering.. he is wanting to get a reaction out of you so if you ignore him he will still call probably for a couple days but then he will get bored since you dont respond and move on. he wants you to make a big deal.. dont and he wont get his way.

  19. i would let the cops handle it and call your phone company and get the number blocked

  20. Call the cops

  21. why would you want to? well, if you really do good luck and I hope somebody posts a link for you.

but if you're in the US or in Canada and he's in Jamaica I would just block the number, and if he calls by a different number... I dunno

    sorry Im not much help!

  22. Report the calls to your phone company and they should not only investigate these calls but usually will change your ph# for free.
