  1. yeah it could be from limewire.

do you have like Norton anti virus on ur laptop, that soon sorts out the little beggars, lol

  2. As you have an infected System Volume Information folder you are constantly re-infecting yourself!  (The System Volume Information folder is where your system restore points are held)

I hate to say this but turn off system restore (this will delete all restore points) and then run your anti virus... when it is done then turn system restore back on, a total pain I know :(

  3. switch off system restore and do:-

Install, update and run a full scan using the free version of http://superantispyware.com

Install, update, immunize and do a scan using http://safer-networking.org

Install http://ccleaner.com and run the registry scan and fix all the issues that are found. Repeat this until nothing is found. Also run the cleaner scan and run cleaner.

Reboot when you're prompted [a few times] and you'll be clean.

You can now re-start System Restore if you wish

Install a decent anti-virus software, I'd recommend Avast Home Edition which is free http://avast.com

Remember to scan all your downloads for infections before you open them. Avast has this facility, all you do is right click the file and select the option to scan with avast.

Email me if you need any help with this.

  4. Safest downloads are from uttorent.

    First download utorrent 1.8

Next, go here and start downloading, utorrent will interact when you download

  5. yes they are coming from limewire. get some good security programs in.download superantispyware and run that or se adaware.

  6. Don't down load from lime wire or use copies of windows vista or xp and go ontot he microsoft web site or you will get a virus. You have a trojan hacker.

  7. You must have downloaded something that was infected. You better delete ever thingg you downloaded form limewire and get a free anti-virus or anti-spyware scanner, such as malwarebytes. Also get a registry cleaner to get rid of all those trojans.

  8. Just download this program for free "ad aware," and run it periodically.  Just be sure to keep it updated.

If a critical sector on the hard drive is damaged, then, frankly, you'll need to recover or restore the system.

Before you do a formal recovery/restore, consider this website (It's free and it'll scan your system without having to download anything to your system)  I've had similar problems and I found this to be effective (I have no affliation with this product):

ADDENDUM TO REPORT:  I've situations where despire using antiviral software and anti-trojan, spyware software, there really wasn't a whole lot to do, in which case I've had to essentially restore my computer to factory settings.  Be sure that you save your critical data first before doing this, but depending on your laptop, customer support should be able to advise you on how/if you should go about restoring the computer.

    I wish you well.

  9. Downloading music is safe but video's and programs are packed with virus from torrent protesters.

    Run malwarebytes, its free.

  10. yeah heaps of viruses come from limewire downloads...

They could also be duplicating themselves (copying and downloading more viruses onto your PC).

My advice would be to delete limewire and start paying for your music. Seriously.

Make sure you have a good anti-virus, which definitely wouldn't be norton.

If you have AVG, I recommend you get Avira. I used AVG for about a year and a half and just switched to Avira. It found viruses that AVG couldn't find..

Do a full scan on your computer, and Avira should pick up the viruses.

Adware 2008 and Spybot Search and Destroy are good anti-spywares...

spyware blaster is also good because it blocks spyware from coming into your computer in the first place...

BY THE WAY, please do NOT use Norton Anti-Virus! It's just.. bad.

  11. the only way you can get rid of them completely is to re boot it.. basically the recovery CD came with when u 1st baught ur laptop.. this will get rid of everything... but do backup all ur stuffs like pictures preciouse music ect.. as this cleans it to brand new state.. I had the same problem.. used to download loadsa stuff off limewire... virus scanned it zillion times... still came up... so I did the above... and everything seemed to fine since then.. and now I'm very carefull of what I download off limewire... do this and trust me its for the best ! LOL.. good luck

  12. Download a good anivirus product like kaspersky antivirus from http://www.geeksjunction.com/malware/mal... to protect your computer from trojan virus.
