  2. Because the price for copper has increased. Its almost 3 dollars per pound here in Texas.

  3. the price of precious metals has been climbing over the past year it has gone through the roof literally,and church roofs aswell for the lead its a major concern and its getting worse as like the other answer china is buying and to be honest the amount of metals and minerals taken is madness,as before long it will be worth its weight in gold as there wont be anything left,you can find the prices on the stocks and shares i do know that crime as risen ten fold because of it world wide,hope this enlightens you some.

  5. Price for copper in recycling plants usually pays between 1 dollar up to 3 dollars per pound for copper throughout the United States. Much of the copper is the shipped to manufactures as well as other countries. Once the initial theft of the copper from the home or building site is complete it becomes near impossible to trace well the copper comes from once it reaches the recycling centers. Each week or two in this community is a report on a copper theft and these days not only construction sites recently home owners have came home and found their copper removed from their homes.

  7. Always was pretty lucrative. I made a pretty penny out of knock-off copper when I was a lad.
