  1. People would cry discrimination.

But I think it's reasonable that if someone is hefty (such as the people I seemingly often get seated next to) they are absolutely TAKING UP my personal space, and I believe they should be liable to pay for the extra room for being so big so they don't bother other passengers.

And since it's reasonable, it would probably happen. Not by weight, but for extra space/seat

Man, airlines should build XL seats for the fattys.

  2. yes, this might be true(i also heard this on the news) and since prices of gas are high i think they will do that, but i think it is discriminating them ina way that is a bit harsh.

  3. I think if the person is so large that they take up two seats, then they will he charged more (for the second seat). But someone's weight (I doubt) will become an issue unless it's directly affecting the passenger sitting beside them.

  4. If a person is too large for one seat he/she will be charged for two seats...as they will be taking up two seats....otherwise there is no real need to charge by weight

  5. No. It is discriminatory against overweight people. Obesity, in many cases, is not a choice; it is a disease.

Therefore, charging based on human weight is illegal.

  6. i certainly hope so.  nothing against overweight people, but i resent the fact that an obese person claims that they are "discriminated" against because a seat is too small for them, but they have no regards for the person they are sitting next to as they "spill" over into that persons seat.  They feel inconvenienced, while ignoring the inconvenience they pose to others on a plane.
