I keep meeting people who trust scoundrels, and distrust innocent people. What is wrong with them?

It's not just a matter of individual bad judgments. I see a pattern in each of these people. They trust people who are operating selfishly, breaking rules, are corrupt and self-serving. Yet the poor innocents are targets for scorn. Is this just an American thing?

A lot of people are influenced by the media unfortunately. You see all these thug rappers, thug athletes etc. Idiots like Paris Hilton etc. People equate bad behavior with success these days. It's getting like that film Idiocracy. People getting more moronic.

I see it like this, people who are con-artists and drug addicts have a gift for being manipulative. And that's why it's easy to believe them. They know how to make it make sense. And sometimes, once people have been scorned by these people, it ruins it for the good guys, because now they don't trust anyone.
