I keep my red plastic gasoline in the shed with the lawnmower and I'm wondering?

What's the safest way to store it? With the heat and humidity getting so hot will it stay safe or possibility blow up!

Keep it outside in the shade. Heat build-up will cause pressure and some gasoline vapor may escape. This vapor is very flammable and volatile and could even ignite spontaneously. Also, it is safer in a metal can although new ones are hard to find these days and older ones may leak.

I'm surprised you still have plastic cans for gasoline, as they have been illegal for some time in Australia.I would obtain a metal can & you'll have no more worries.

Just make sure you leave the breather open on it so the fumes won't build up and cause a fire. LOL

YA SHOULD LEAVE THE WINDOW OPEN A LITTLE TO THE FUMES ESCAPE AS WELL

I undstand your concern. personnaly i store all the gasoline and lpg containers outside. I just throw a small tarp over them.

see to it that the lid is vented and then that there is good air movement in the shed when the doors are closed.... like roof vents or windows that can be left open a little....or a floor vent... or doors that aren't perfectly fitted... and leak a little.... as long as it's not so air-tight that fumes can gather there and not escape, yer in good shape....

Make sure you do not fill the container to the very top.  Leave some room for the gas to expand and you should be ok.

As long as it's shaded it should be okay.

Much better in the shed than in your house, especially if the shed is away from the house!
