I am hardly home and I only really visit yahoo for my mail, my banks site and a few others. I can't figure out where I am picking this up from.

  2. Most malwares are designed to attack popular

antivirus products (like Symantec, Norton ), but since free anti-virus product is much less used, it's capable of fighting the viruses when industry leaders fail.

Symantec/Norton are responsible for BSOD ( Blue Screen Of Death )

I would suggest that you get Avast Home Edition version 4,

which is free for personal use.

Avast is a very effective and free anti-virus program because it can do

a boot time scan in safe mode and it will remove the entire virus on your PC.

Even those viruses that hide inside the system restore folder.

Windows utilize a restore utility that backs up selected files

automatically to the System volume information /System Restore folder.

This means that an infected file could be stored there as a backup file,

and most anti-virus programs will be unable to delete these files. You

must disable the System Restore Utility to remove the infected files

from the folder if you use another brand of anti-virus. However, you do

not need to do so if you use Avast to do a boot up scan in safe mode.

You should also install spybot search and destroy to immune your system.

Spybot search and destroy is the best free anti-spyware tool that that contains many features.

    http://www.safer-networking.org/

Spybot search and destroy immunize your computer against spyware.

It modifies Internet Explorer to block a lot of the bad stuff known to Spybot.

There is a second layer of protection for IE that blocks anything that should come through by different aspects.

  3. The worm is apparently riding on the back of a program that you installed.  Figure out which programs you recently installed or opened from the internet and remove them.  Then use spybot or AVG antivirus (both are free on download.com).  If they don't find it, use McAfee. This worm has been installed in your registry most likely and keeps reinstalling itself.  McAfee will check the registry.

  4. Quit visiting the site where you're picking it up.

  5. First, you might not be getting rid of it in the first place.

Do a scan with spybot search and destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org  After it's cleaned up everything, reboot, then scan again.  If it detects anything on the 2nd scan, it's not getting cleaned up.

    2.  If you don't have all the microsoft security patches installed, nothing will prevent re-infection... do the windows update.  don't to the express install, do the manual one and make sure all of the "security" related patches are applied.

    3.  Get a GOOD antivirus.  The best is NOD32 from http://www.eset.com  there is a 30 day free trial you can download.  Make sure to uninstall whatever AV isn't doing it job before you install the ESET... you never want 2 antivirus products running on the same machine.  (You can leave spybot installed, it's not an antivirus product.)  Also, do the IMMUNIZE function with spybot search and destroy.

  6. go to registry and search the virus and delete the virus or goto Start run msconfig and try to remove start up of the virus still more help try to google it

  7. It could be from the emails you received. Try using Firefox web browser if you haven't.

  8. use spybot or whatever spyware removal tools you want then use haute secure
