  1. she is displaying a defensive mechanism but all it means is she doesn't feel secure just leave her alone for a while  


  2. It's a nervous twitch. A lot of snakes do it. If the snake is in dry leaves, it can sound a lot like a rattler.

  4. most if not all kingsnakes make their tail rattle to ward off predators by acting like a rattlesnake out in the wild. this is a defensive mechanism used only when they feel they are threatened.

    (i own a florida speckled kingsnake)

  5. These snakes do this as a way to get you to get away from them.  It is a defensive mechanism.
