  1. As far as I know, Berard did not go to college. He graduated from Mount Saint Charles High School in Rhode Island along with Brian Boucher and was drafted that year. He then started his career in professional hockey the next season in Detroit of the OHL. He has played pro hockey every season since besides two: one for the lockout and one because a severe eye injury in 2000.
