  1. In Australian there is no coner back the closest to that would be back pocket.

If you are a back pocket player you will be on someone small or tall.

If you are tall your job is to drop into packs ( a pack is when the ball is kicked into a a group of poeple) and take the mark ( a mark is where you grab the ball)  and kick it out of there foward 50.

If you are small your job is to run with your player and try to get the ball of him by tackling (a tackle is when you grab the oppenent who has the ball and take it off of him)

  2. Cornerbacks position is to defend wide receivers; wide receivers are the guys the quartback throws the ball too. Your job as the cornerback would be to guard the wide receiver and make sure they don't catch the ball. Tackle em, get the ball from them...just make sure they don't get the ball and nobody runs past you! Good Luck!

  3. A cornerback guards the wide receiver on their side of the field.  You will need to stick to them like glue.  Your zone will be the far left or far right of the field.  Basically, don't let them get behind you (keep the person you are guarding in front of you) and that way if you can't knock the ball down when it is thrown to them, you can pull their flag easily if they catch it.  Also, if you watch the quarterback's eyes, you will often be able to tell where they are throwing the ball and you may be able to intercept the ball or at least knock it down.

In flag football, there is a lot of misdirection, crossing routes so be careful and watch when players cut across the field in your zone.

You will need to communicate with your safety, especially if your person goes deep and you release them to the safety, make sure they know you aren't guarding that person any more.

Favorite tactics of wide receivers are 1) to jog off the line, then accelerate, hoping to catch you off guard so they get behind you, 2) button hook (run off the line fast, then stop and come back towards their quarterback), 3)  down and out, the receiver runs off the line, then cuts hard at a 90 degree angle towards the sideline, 4) slant, the receiver runs off the line, then angle across the middle of the field, hoping you don't follow.

If you are faster than the person you are guarding, then sometimes you can lay off of them a couple of yards and try to bait the quarterback into throwing to them and then run in front of the pass and intercept it.

    Have fun!

  4. Australian football doesn't have cornerbacks. You'll get better answers in the American or Canadian football category.
