I know Panama does no have an olympic basketball team but are they ever in the FIBA world championships?

1970 FIBA World Championship: Finished: 9th

1986 FIBA World Championship: Finished: 19th

2006 FIBA World Championship: Finished: 23th

Interestingly they have appeared in only 1 olympic basketball competition in 1968 in Mexico City. Finished :12th of 16 teams

well fiba is basically the forerunner to the olympics. if you can win there, you can win in the olympics, because they are the same rules, etc etc. so almost every olympic team, at least the contending ones, played fiba basketball. Panama might have played in fiba, since it is their choice to play in it or not, but i do remember something about panama during the 06 fiba tourney.
