I know being ward of the state means being protected but what about moving to another state?

Can I do that? I live in Augusta,GA and I'm 23 years old male

  1. Um... no... Usually you need to contact your case worker and 99 times out of 100 they will say you cant move. Once you pass state borders, that's where your case worker's jurisdiction ends. If you really really need to be protected... I don't suggest moving.


  2. If you're 23 then you should no longer be a "ward of the state", you should've "aged out" already.

    If you have a job, a place to live that's in your name, no felony record stating you can not relocate......then you can do pretty much as you darn well please. Who told you otherwise???? Enjoy your life, you're the only one who can live it~
