I'm sure it'd be possible to find an extra-long comforter, but there's absolutely no need to. Clearly you do need to buy extra long fitted sheets, and extra long flats are useful too, but when it comes to blankets and comforters there is enough extra length to accommodate a slightly longer mattress.

If you're asking because you're buying things for college, definitely consider a pair of bed risers. You put them under the legs and it gives you extra storage space.
