  1. Daunte Caulpepper is terrible that is why he is not on any teams at the moment.  He has a cannon for an arm but if one of the most inaccurate passers ever.  The only good seasons he had were when the vikings had Moss and Cris Carter.  Great receivers will make any qb look good.  And the niners actually have 2 decent quarterback they just dont have a reciever that can run a route or catch a ball.  Well Gore can but he is a running back so i didnt count him although the guy is a beast.

  2. Culpepper asks for too much money. And yes he has problems backing somebody else up, he thinks hes better than that. The bottom line is, that hes going to have to compete for a job. Whether that be a competition for 1st string, or more likely for the 2nd string quasterback on a team. The 49ers probibly wont go for him. They think Shaun Hill is the answer, and Alex Smith could finally improve. Neither of these outcomes are very likely. It looks like this franchise is got a few years before they have a chance at the playoffs. Even with Frank Gore. The sad part is, that if they could get a good quarterback they probibly would be competable. But that remains to be seen.

  3. Culpepper can't fathom that no team wants him as a starter...

Yes, he is way better than Joey.  But Joey is a backup.  Daunte wants to be a starter and nothing else.

He does not seem to realize that he has to prove himself once again.  That starts as a backup with hopes you get a shot.

The Steelers passed on him and gave Leftwich the job, because Daunte can not come to grips with the fact he is backup material right now.

I think being a backup for 2 mil a year is better than 0 dollars a year sitting at home because your pride is hurt.

I think Daunte is a great QB, but the situation he is in...he just has to accept it and sign on wherever he can and hope to get a chance.
