I know i will sound really ditsy asking this question but...?

Question

How do you play volleyball after getting your nails done? I always keep my nails short because It HURTS when the ball hits them...but my prom is coming up and i want to go get my nails done. I am afraid that i am gonna break them at practice before prom...and the practices after prom. Should i go for it and get them done? or should i just paint them.

I know this is a dumb volleyball question but....I just wanted some advise. Thanx

I don't know if you are talking about acrylics but if you are I totaly get what you are talking about. I don't think you can brake them of that easily. My friend plays football and she still gets her nails done. When you get them done ask them what you should do there is a think called a silk wrap. It goes on the acrylic and stops it from braking. It may hurt if the ball hits one of your nails but they shouldn't brake. Good luck and have a good prom. Just enjoy yourself. Just remember that short nails look good to so if you just paint them you will look great

don't get your nails done because if you play sports they are going to get messed up.Or don't play sports

What you can do, is to not use the techniques in which your nails are likely to be injuried - this means your fingers.

So you do not use the 'set' technique at all - but use your dig instead to set.  Any high ball you receive, you use the closed 2 handed technique - one hand makes a fist, the other hand goes over that, and you use the flat area of the bottom of your hands only - this can be used for passing/receiving the serve, setting even..  Of course, you can use your dig, for passing too..

well if you get them done there is going to be the possibility of breaking one. but if you do get them done, just try not to set. try to pass at any time possible.

but i would wait as late as you can before you get them done. the less days you have them on, the better..

just paint them your prom date probably wont even notice your nails. and volleyball is most important!

I would wait till like the very night before prom or that day and everything. anything can happen to your nails ya know.

Yeah I would wait until the last minute you can get them done, and like they said do not set with them on and you should be fine!! Then again like the other people pointed out is that your date will probably not care about your nails!! I would not worry about it a lot!!!
