I'm starting to look at ideas for Christmas presents for my boys. I want to be prepared and have everything sorted so that December doesn't turn into a mad rush.

They will be 8 months and 20 months this year - what ideas do you have for what they can have? DON'T tell me not to bother, as I've already made the decision that I will, I don't want to go mad, just wanted a few ideas.

Also, can anybody recommend any decent train sets that don't cost the earth? I think they'd like that :)

  4. It's never too early, I've bought a few bits for my kids already. My daughter's birthday is in December too so there's no way I can afford to get everything at the last minute.

And the Little People range is great for older toddlers, they have a train set and a farm and a few other things. As others have said the ELC is a great place to look too. My two also got lots of wooden shape jigsaws and board books at that age, We're Going on Bear Hunt was a favourite.

  5. Agree with Cranberry Kat. The ELC stuff is great and their ranges are always expanding so it provides loads of options for relatives as well as yourself.

One word of warning that you probably won't need cos I know you are clever knickers..The little wooden track it comes with..I had to number it in pencil underneath cos I couldn't remember how to put it together even though I had to do it every day! I despair of myself I really do...
