  1. The evidence is rather lean on either one being the source of hyper activity.

I think it's a combination of chemical, food, social, emotional, and circumstance issues that contribute a great deal of angst for parents.

Not to mention hereditary influences.  How can anyone REALISTICALLY keep anything sweet from a typical diet?

Be it sugar, Splenda, or aspartame, one or more is always in something we eat.

  2. Studies show that kids aren't any more hyper after eating sugar.  Kids are hyper all the time, it's just what they are.

  3. have you tried it? Splenda doesn't taste like sugar haha

dunno the answer to your question....my guess is it doesn't since its artificial ingredients to make up for sugar..

  4. It's too soon to say how Splenda affects a child's development, which is more important. Natural is better, even though sugar obviously has it's own problems.

  5. i don't believe it is sugar alone that causes a child to get hyperactive.  splenda or any other artificial or chemically constructed product should be avoided at all costs for anyone but especially for a child.  i wouldn't go all tofu or anything - but make clear natural based choices.  also if the child is hyperactive - you should evaluate what sort of chemicals the child is coming into contact with especially in the home.  rid your house of any cleaning, washing, bathing products that are created from harsh chemicals.  your shampoo and toilet cleaner stuck under the sink emoting harmful fumes could be contributing more to the behavior than sugar.
