  1. John F. Kennedy would be one. So would Ronald Reagan.

  2. Certainly it is common to consider Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin Roosevelt, as the greatest presidents, we are taught so in school so how can it be otherwise?  But then some actual study history and while President Washington stands up under such scrutiny, the other two don’t fair quite so well.  That is, President Lincoln tore the Founders’ Constitution asunder and President Roosevelt move the country far down the road toward socialism.

Even so, choosing the greatest President is no small task.  I believe that Washington stands alone and nearly everyone would pick him as number one.  Both Presidents Jefferson and Madison would have to be high on such a list, but on that same list I would place Presidents Reagan, and Hoover.  The former led the way to the end of the Cold War and the latter developed many of the programs that FDR took credit for to end the Depression.

  3. Jefferson was no slouch and neither was Madison.

I can't say I would vote for Reagan and while JFK was highly beloved, his time in office may keep him off the list of the greatest; he certainly did give the country vision and hope for the future.

  4. Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Andrew Jackson, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Adams, John F. Kennedy

This is of course a matter of opinion. Some people consider Reagan to be among the great presidents.

  5. F.D.R. and Lincoln were not very good Presidents. The constitution meant little to the both. Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt are two of the best Presidents of the 20th century.

  6. Thank you for asking this phenomenal question, because it allows me to talk about Woodrow Wilson. Woodrow Wilson is the most underrated president of all time. His 14 Point speech could have settled disputes in Europe much more effectively than those plans of David Lloyd George and Georges Clemenceau. Although Open Diplomacy seems a little out of grasp, Wilson had truly brilliant plans and excellent decision making skills.

    Other great presidents include:

Ronald Reagan- Communication with Gorbachev helped end Cold War.

    Bill Clinton- Economic genius/NAFTA

Harry S. Truman- Handled WWII as well as circumstances could allow.

  7. Reagan and Kennedy belong on the "Best" List.

If you're a student/purest of the Constitution, the two presidents who violated it the most were, Lincoln and FDR

  8. All of the great presidents have one thing in common: they successfully steered the Federal Government through times of national transitions.

Teddy Roosevelt brought the US into the world club. He also promoted free-enterprise capitalism by promoting competition by busting monopolies.

Truman was considered drab, but history has shown that he was quite amazing.

Nixon altered the course of the Cold War by playing the Soviets against the Chi-Coms, and Regan ended the Cold War by bankrupting the Soviets.

They all make interesting studies. Let's hope the next one isn't a Harding or a Carter.
