I know nothing about Zune. Grandson uses my computer for his music. Is it okay to delete all his music?

Does deleting from computer affect his music? This is taking up a lot of memory I think.

If you delete it off your computer and he try to connect his Zune to your computer it will delete all his music off of the Zune.The music don't really take up that much space. I have over 400 songs and it only takes up 3GB of space (witch is not much).

And music can't use that music memory unless he has like 30,000 songs...

1. Make sure his Zune is up to date with firmware 2.5.

2. Connect his Zune and open the Zune program.

3. Click on device>settings>sync options and change the settings to allow the user to choose.

4. Click ok and close the Zune program.

5. It should work but test it out anyway. Delete one song. Then with the Zune connected open the Zune program. The program should remove that song from the collection without removing it from the Zune. If it still removes it from the Zune then go to the recycle bin on the computer because the sons should be there. Restore the song.

I prefer to put the files on an external hard drive instead of deleting them. I've had to replace my Zune once when I broke the first one. I've had to have the second one repaired. I've also had to delete all of the music files and resync them. Keeping the files on an exteranal drive frees up my computer's hard drive space yet I still have the files backed up when I need them.

If he has a lot of videos on his Zune that would be what is taking up a lot of space. If you want to know for sure turn on his Zune. Connect his Zune and open the Zune program. Click on device>music. At the bottom it should tell you how much space the music is taking up on the Zune. That is the same amount that it will take up on your computer.
