Ok.. So the front of the car is making this noise when I turn or when Im going at a low speed, The car also shakes when going between 60-65mph. Weird I know! Im thinking its the wheel bearing, My question is, I will only need a front one right? Not a rear one too? Since its coming from the front of the car? Sorry Im a dummy. Just trying to see how much this is going to cost me!

  1. it could be several things ,brakes ,out of balance tires (see if the tire is perfectly round ,i had a tire busted a cord inside it morphed the tire egg shaped bounced around just awful make a terrible racket.) if you do need a wheel bearing it will be confined to 1 wheel.be careful ,take somebody who knows about cars with you front end problems are made for a scam artist, tell them you want your old parts returned to you after the repair..........tom

  2. It could be a wheel bearing. If it is, I would get both front bearings changed at the same time, but you won't need to change the back ones too.

It could also possibly be your driveshaft, as it makes a noise when you turn it sounds like it could be the outer joint (the one nearest the wheel).

Best way to check if it is your bearing or not, is to Jack up the front of the car (noisy side) & see if theres any play in the wheel at all - ie put one hand on the right side of the wheel, one hand on the left, and gently try to move it.

If it moves then likely bearing.

    Hope it helped

  3. If the noise is in the front you will only need a front wheel bearing...wheel bearings usually get louder at higher speeds and aren't usually affected by turning the steering wheel...I left a note about your power steering pump and you may want to check that out before condemning your wheel bearing...also if you can jack up the car and grab the wheel top and bottom and wiggle it then you may really have a bad wheel bearing if it is solid or doesn't move chances are your wheel bearing is good...as for the shake at high speeds get your wheels balanced and see if that shake doest clear up...Good Luck

  4. kind of car year of car would have help some..... and best you get it in a shop and have it check.. dont give them any ideals just say your has a shake and let them find the problem.. it could be a wheel bearing coul d be a cv joint.. could be a bad tire..... having them check first... but most important you know you shouldnt be driving it any wheres but to a shop.. just costing you more money... anytime you hear or feel something wrong.. you should start checking then ...not in a few days or a week.. if you have a bad wheel bearing and it  lets go you will not be able to turn.... and the car  will go which ever way it wants too so dont be a dummy learn about your car and what it take to keep it in good shape

  5. no dear your not a dummy. if the noise is coming from the front, it could be a bearing or a cv joint.
