I don't think you need a degree in economics to figure out we are screwed.

We are not competitive because we are paying twice the tax on fuel as our nearest rivals. Productivity is grinding to a halt and price rises are effecting consumer spending.

Without a major hike in their pay rise, local council workers have balloted to strike. So a winter of discontent is looming and that will have a knock on effect.

If we had an elected prime minister and not a prat on a promise there might be some hope.

But you would be safe in saying a lot of people are going to loss their jobs.

depends on how long this situation lasts and if it will worsen, there will certainly be job losses which could be quite high and the chance of younger people  finding employment will definately be difficult

There a lot of jobs there to loose not to mention the jobs of the companies that are supported by these companies . All could cascade out of control .
