I know plum pits are not safe, but what happens if my Jack Russell ate it by accident? what needs to be done?

If you are noticing your dog's behavior changing for the worse, I would call your local poison control center. Believe it or not, they can actually help you with animals too! I had to call once because my dog drank blue toilet water at two thirty in the morning and we had no emergency clinic near us. There is also a pet poison helpline which is open 24/7, but they charge a fee of $35, I think. But try calling the local poison control, it's free, and they are pretty effective. Hope this helps.

It should pass it in time. Best thing to do is call you vet on monday morning to be on the safe side.

Some fruit pits and seeds have cyanide in them which is toxic.  I would call an emergency clinic.
